Joseph Vecsey, Class of 12'

Joseph Vecsey is a comedian, writer, actor, producer, director, and editor. Most recently, he was an on-set writer for Happy Madison's movie The Do-Over, starring Adam Sandler and David Spade, and co-producer of HubieHalloween, with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Julie Bowen. Both films are available to stream on Netflix. Joseph shared his experience with the Brooklyn College community and answered questions from fellow alumni. IMDb

Sung-Ho Kim, Class of 98'

Sung-Ho was born in Seoul, South Korea. and studied Architectural Design at Yonsei University in Korea. He later received a Certificate in Film Production from Brooklyn College and now has a successful career in the Korean Film Industry.  Sung-Ho also teaches Film at Chugye University of the Arts in Seoul, Korea.  IMDb

Thomas Chaves, Class of '08

 

Mastershots founder Thomas Chaves reflects on his journey from graduating Brooklyn College in 2008 to becoming a successful gaffer, business owner, and cinematographer. Tom shares how his passion for filmmaking led him to launch Mastershots, a lighting and equipment supply company specializing in corporate videos and commercials, and later NYCDP.com, his cinematography venture.

 

Focusing on Mastershots, Tom offers a candid look at building client relationships—from concept development to delivery—navigating challenging clients, and assembling reliable teams. Along the way, he drops practical advice for young filmmakers on making strong impressions, standing out as emerging cinematographers, and preparing for the realities of the professional world.

Idit Dvir

 

Howard University film professor Idit Dvir reflects on her path from Brooklyn College to graduate study at the American Film Institute, and how those experiences shaped her as both a filmmaker and educator.
